The coffee estate was established in 1882 and was inherited across 4 generations.
This is an eco-friendly coffee plantation, they use clean renewable energy, produced by a small hydropower plant of our ownproperty. In the estate they have 3 own drinking water source and, besides coffee, they grow part of their familly food needs, which makes the estate sustainable and generates work for people from the surrounding communities
They grow timber trees and side crops, as bananas and plantains, which provides shade to our coffee bushes. The fauna and flora is very important for us, therefore in the area of the Naranjo River, one of the biggest in Guatemala and which crosses the property, they have a private reservation, which is inhabited by a large variety of birds, reptiles and rodents, among many other species.
